At Troop 44, we're forging future leaders and building a brotherhood centered on challenge, competence, and character. We band together with other young men in the area to build deep camaraderie and tackle the adventures that shape tomorrow's best citizens.
Our program is a dynamic system designed to develop the whole person through hands-on adventure and real-world service:
Adventure & Outdoor Mastery: We push our limits with adrenaline-pumping challenges. This includes wall climbing and learning to rappel safely, mastering essential skills like knots and navigation, and tackling multi-day excursions focused on Hiking, Camping, and Kayaking. We turn every Scout into a confident adventurer.
Skills for the Modern Scout: We balance wilderness survival with modern challenges. Our schedule also includes fun, competitive events like video game tournaments, giving every Scout a chance to shine and connect.
Citizenship & Service: Our Scouts are dedicated to making a tangible difference in the community. We actively engage in meaningful service projects, putting the principles of the Scout Law into action to help others at all times.
Leadership from the Heart: We practice the Servant Leadership methodology, teaching that true leadership begins with serving the team and the community. Every Scout is given the opportunity to lead, organize, and inspire his peers, ensuring a youth-run troop.
The Merit Badge program is your proving ground. This is where you don't just explore interests—you master real-world skills that build your resume, define your future, and prepare you for any situation life throws your way.
Choose your challenge from dozens of subjects designed for action, intellect, and physical grit:
Engineering & The Elements: Tackle the frontier of Science & Tech with Astronomy, break down the mechanics of Chemistry and Electricity, and become fluent in Digital Technology and Environmental Science.
Tactical Preparedness: Learn to lead in a crisis. Master First Aid and Emergency Preparedness. Understand Fire Safety and Crime Prevention to protect your community and yourself. These are the skills that count when the pressure is on.
Outdoor Survival & Strength: This is the core of scouting. Hone your precision with Archery and Rifle Shooting. Conquer heights through Climbing and push your limits with Cycling and Snow Sports. Learn the essential craft of Fishing—the ultimate test of patience and skill.
Trades & Innovation: Build, design, and create. Develop the technical proficiency of Drafting and Metalwork. Learn fundamental trades like Pottery and design with Landscape Architecture.
Whether you're developing the patience required for Animal Science or gaining the critical independence of Cooking for your patrol on a wilderness campout, every badge earned means another skill locked down and another step toward becoming a capable man. Be Prepared.
Everything we do is built upon the timeless values of Scouting America.
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
A Scout strives to be: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

Get the essential intel on what makes Troop 44 the premier destination for action, skill-building, and high-impact brotherhood.
A: Weekly Briefing and Training. We assemble every Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This is our time to train, master new skills, plan challenging expeditions, and forge the strong bonds of our patrol.
A: Absolutely. We demand action! We commit to an epic campout or high-adventure outing at least one weekend every month. We're talking trail-blazing, survival skills, pioneering projects, and service that makes a measurable impact. We don't just wait for adventure—we track it down.
A: YES! Our Summer Expeditions are Built for Glory. We always organize a significant, high-challenge trip during the summer break. In 2024, our crew executed an incredible journey to see the majestic Yellowstone National Park, the iconic faces of Mt. Rushmore, the powerful Crazy Horse Monument, and yes... we even paused to see the world's biggest ball of twine 🤣 (because every mission needs a moment of levity).
A: Investing in Capability. Our fees are straightforward and directly fund the quality of our program and equipment.
Annual Registration Fee: $85 (This covers national registration with Scouting America.)
Annual Troop Dues: $125 (This stays with Troop 44 to cover advanced equipment, essential supplies, and recognition awards.)
